The House passed a continuing resolution 370-48 on September 1 2026 extending federal funding to December 11, on a Senate-originated bipartisan deal the President was expected to sign. The Defense Department is funded at fiscal 2026 levels, but the bill omits the Iran war supplemental the President requested, omits most Pentagon anomalies - including $1B of Trump-class battleship advance procurement and a munitions exemption for PAC-3, Tomahawk, AMRAAM and SM-3 variants - and carries the standard bar on new starts and new multiyear contracts. Missed by prior snapshots and captured here; the $67B replenishment supplemental remains under congressional review.
