Economic Data Evidence

The August employment report revised the prior two months up by a combined 55,000: July moved from -23,000 to +21,000 and June from +20,000 to +31,000. The revision turned the only negative payroll month of the summer positive, materially changing the trajectory the Committee had been reading and weakening the case that the labour market was deteriorating.
